Update 9/3/08

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to make you aware of a setback that Rhonda had yesterday. She has an infection in her right arm, around the elbow area. It became so painful last night that Al took her into the emergency room at about 9 p.m. They were there for a couple of hours - they put her on an IV and ran some tests. She came home again during the night and this morning was resting comfortably, although her arm is still swollen, red and is causing her some pain yet. Her Mom is staying with her today. (Bless those Moms!) She also has an appointment with Dr. Cak, her surgeon, for Friday to follow up. Rhonda did have the start of an infection around her port about a week ago – we think the two infections may be connected because they are on the same side of the body and blood line. With her immune system down, she is prone to infection. She will not be returning to work this week, and it’s unlikely that her chemo treatments will start next Monday. The infection will have to be cleared up before the treatments can begin.

I’ll keep you posted on her progress. Please keep praying for Rhonda, asking God to strengthen her body’s defenses against the infection. And keep Al in your prayers - he has alot on his shoulders right now and needs your prayers also.

God bless!
